Guardian Saturday

Full page and double page spread illustrations for the Guardian’s new magazine, Saturday. My take on illustrating florals: with plenty of brushstrokes, markmaking, and the energy of living things.

The article, by Rebecca Solnit, explores a little known side of George Orwell: keen rose gardener. Some of the roses he planted are still thriving in his old garden and the writer travelled there to discover them.
